Since when is LBGT a movie category
[edit]Can you give me a reason for why thise whole article/section shouldn't be deleted? Does IMDB, Rotten Tomatoes or say the New Yorker list it as such? Should we then include as a category of film every possible subject? Personally I feel passionate about LBGT issues but I am seeing to much of this crap all over Wikipedia and it needs to stop. Don't use it as a place to flaunt your political opinions. LBGT is the subject of the film. It can then be a horror film, a thriller, an erotic film or what ever else. As it is listed now as a category or genré is wrong!46.59.36.37 (talk) 00:35, 24 February 2013 (UTC)
- In a way yes. And from another point of view: In 2020 nearly 25 % of all new released films hat a LBGT person in the story line. So in a couple of years this article - in its present form - will be redundant/largely incomplete.
- What would make sense, however, would be an article about the historic "appearance" of LBGT characters/topics in films.
- Remember: As long as LBGT (people, stories, situations) are confined to separate lists they will be considered as "outside the norm". They will become "part of normal" if they don't have to be confined to list articles anymore. 78.126.219.113 (talk) 12:10, 5 February 2022 (UTC)
- While I appreciate your optimism, I seriously doubt that will happen even in a couple years. I would even gather that it will never happen. Historyday01 (talk) 14:57, 5 February 2022 (UTC)
- One, you don't know that. Two, your subtle homophobia is not needed here or anywhere, really. Keep your personal bigotry to yourself. 「HypeBoy」TALK 10:57, 25 May 2024 (UTC)

Film: Wings 1927
[edit]Sorry, My name is Miguel and I need use de Translate (My English is painful, I know).
Hi. In your list on LGBT cinema, I don't think you have included a film that, not only me, but IMDB itself, qualifies within a clear bisexual subtext:
Wings, 1927, by William A. Wellman, Harry d'Abbadie d'Arrast ( uncredited).
I think it has more merits than others on the list to be on it.
I have seen the movie and there are scenes that go beyond romance, not ambiguous looks, and shows an affection between men more than buried. In case you want to consider it.

Sources for films that do not have a Wikipedia article
[edit]This list is in need of reliable sources for the films that don't have Wikipedia articles about them. Where is the proof that they involve "participation and/or representation of LGBT", as claimed in the lead?
